Longevity

When I first started belly dancing in my 20's, most of my teachers were over 40. And now that I'm over 40, they are over 60 and many of them are still teaching, performing, writing and giving retreats or tours in exotic places. It's not easy to make a career of belly dancing, but it is possible.

  • I also started in my 20s, more like dabbled on and off. Then it kicked in in my mid 30s. Ever since I came to Australia, it hit the ground running, and now I am not only dancing, but performing and teaching.
