Sometimes belly dance competitions have special catagories just for older dancers. If you know of any of them, please post them here so members can enter if they'd like. I know Belly Dancer of the Universe used to have one.

I make the fliers for BDUC, (the next one is Feb 17 & 18 2006, Long Beach, CA)
"used to" is not quite accurate. . . . .the category has not changed, it still exists as it has in the past.
The only requirement is the contestant have been dancing for 20 years or more, any style dancing, so yes, a youngster starting at a young age Could qualify, but would more likely choose an alternate category.
Now with 12 Categories to choose from, including tribal, and the newest veil solo,
it can get confusing, "Divine" is still there, though!
